Whether you are operating a global business or working within a highly diverse American workplace, effective intercultural communication skills are critical. In this series, you will go well beyond a look at customs to dig deeply into the concepts and research that help explain why we behave the way we do. Our featured Chief Communication Officers, experts in corporate culture, are guided by Jim O’Rourke, Teaching Professor of Management & Organization and Amanda McKendree, Arthur F. and Mary J. O’Neil Director of the Fanning Center for Business Communication. We will analyze intercultural situations in the workplace to see these theories at work in practical ways. Along with increasing self-awareness of our individual communication styles, we will explore how to become more effective and ethical intercultural communicators.
