Dear President,

Who knew?

When we look back to the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, when we were first getting used to the idea of staying inside, working remotely, wearing masks, practicing social distancing, and canceling current events and activities, we thought we’d be over it by now. And yet, here we are, first and foremost hoping and praying you and your family are well and safe, and looking forward to the day when we will be able to resume our regular activities.

We’re pleased that in spite of the pandemic we had a very successful Accepted Student video reception with more than 40 people joining in for a wide open discussion with current students on what the new enrollees could expect to encounter when they get to campus.

Coming up on June 4th, we’ll hold another video call  - this time with our graduating seniors on what they can expect from the New Workplace of the Future. How we work, where we work, how we interact with others in the workplace is all changing…and quickly.  Our special guest will be Bhushan Sethi, who helps lead PwC’s global people and organization practice, and addresses these issues on a worldwide basis.

Still to come: Updates on rescheduling our planned activities - our Hesburgh Lecture and our UND Celebration.

In the meantime: here are some other updates you’ll find helpful!

Activities during the pandemic! The Irish Family Fun Pack - includes color pages, crossword puzzles, word searches, and more! Download it here! Also, very cool to do with kids and grandkids - Download the Virtual ND Jigsaw Puzzles.

Congrats to our graduating class of 2020 -please join in our 6/4 video chat and welcome to our incoming class of 2024. We still hope to send them off in a fun way at an in-person August family picnic - stay tuned!

2020 Football Ticket Update:  The University is still hopeful that the season will happen. To that end, they have required Club payment for tickets by June 15th. Consequently, we must ask all who have committed to tickets for Arkansas ($120 per ticket) and Clemson ($190 per ticket) to send in their payment by 6/8/20. Pat Holston will be in touch with more specifics re payment in an email so check your in-boxes closely. We already know that we will have some tickets available for both games so IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN TICKETS for either game but have not previously informed us, please let Pat at know which game and how many tickets you would like ASAP and plan on getting your payment in by the 8th. The University has advised while they are hopeful, in the event the season is cancelled or fans are prohibited from attending, the Club will receive a refund and we will refund participants individually. If games are re-scheduled, fans should hold on to their tickets as they will be good for the new date. They will not however be refunded or exchanged.

Stay healthy and safe and if you have an idea or suggestion for a video conference or virtual event, please let me know. We are looking to do more of them!
