Doing some research on his time at ND I found this item in The Scholastic:
He clings staunchly to his contention that Glenn Miller is still the best band going. He likes to spend his spare time collecting autographs and photos of athletes.
I found a reference during his senior year about all the fan mail me got. He said that he responded to each and every request for an autograph because he was always disappointed when players he looked up to did not send autographs back.
