Unfortunately the term "cathedral" is misused or misunderstood so that the term "church" or "chapel" should be used in its place. But the ranking is a listing of the 30 most beautiful "places of worship" attached to University campuses around the world.
I wouldn't necessarily be sending this out if Notre Dame's Basilica of the Sacred Heart weren't selected as Number 1 in the world, but here again ND is #1.
Other University "churches" in the top 30 ranking include:
#19. St. Ignatius Church, University of San Francisco
#16. Madonna Della Strada, Loyola University, Chicago
#14. Immaculata Parish Church, University of San Diego
#8. Great Saint Mary's Church, Cambridge, England
#6. Toledo Cathedral, Royal University of Toledo, Spain
#5. Chapelle de la Sorbonne, University of Paris
#4. Batell Chapel, Yale University, New Haven, Conn.
#3. Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela,
University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain
#2. Church of Saint Yves at the Sapienza, University of Rome, Italy
#1. Basilica of the Sacred Heart, University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Indiana
