This is a nice portrayal of what the Campus Crossroads Project is going to look like...
We are so fortunate that we have the land which enables us to increase our facilities and still remain inside the same footprint that we knew as students.
When Notre Dame Stadium was built, we wisely moved the extension of Eddy Street (also called Niles Road) from the west side to the East Side of the Stadium. Several years ago, we built the county a new road (Twyckenham) east of the Athletic Fields and in return gained the closure of Juniper Road, a major artery which went between the Stadium and the Joyce Center. Now with this project, we will be able to add several buildings and thousands of valuable square footage into the Stadium edifice.
When Notre Dame Stadium was built, it was a long way from the center of the campus and campus life. Over the past 30-40 years, our campus and athletic fields have moved dramatically to the southeast, moving the Stadium to a more central location.
This short “flyover” dramatization of an aerial view of the Campus Crossroads Project shows what the finished facility will look like.
