Daniel Scott, RIP

Mike Grohman passed along this sad news...

Our ’66 classmate, Daniel Scott, passed away yesterday after a long battle with cancer.

Matt Boyle, Dan and I all attended high school together at Delbarton in New Jersey, and then went off to ND together.  Matt and Dan roomed together in Badin Hall.  He went on to get his MBA and then a PhD in Economics – I still have a bound copy of his dissertation "Technology and Union Survival" if you would like some light reading! Dan was in our wedding; Pat, Dan, Darby and I often double-dated many years ago. He ran a financial printing company in NY/NJ - and included an office in the WT Towers where so many of his customers were housed. Fortunately all of his employees escaped 9/11 without harm, but he lost many friends that day. For over 10 years, Dan served as trustee board chairman of Delbarton and helped lead it to its current world-class reputation.

We last were with Dan in June at the 50th reunion and are very grateful we had so much time with him then. He will be terribly missed as he was such an outstanding person. I'm certain Our Lady on the ND Dome is making sure Dan has a very special place in heaven.
