As ND Boston completes our series celebrating June as Gay Pride Month, we are very excited to share some great news.  On Friday, June 25th, the ND Alumni Association announced the creation of a new alumni affinity group serving LGBTQ Alumni & Allies.  The new group is call ARC ND (Alumni Rainbow Community of Notre Dame).

ARC ND will officially launch in January, joining the association’s network of groups that provide alumni and friends with the opportunity to connect in community. ARC ND is planned to replace GALA-ND/SMC, an unofficial alumni group formed in 1992 for gay and lesbian alumni of Notre Dame and Saint Mary’s College.

To read more about ARC ND, go to NDAA Announcement or watch a video on Facebook featuring Dolly Duffy, NDAA Executive Director.  We encourage anyone interested in being part of this new group to join the ARC ND community here.

Here in Boston, we are especially proud of the work our alumni community has accomplished over the past 3-4 years engaging LGBTQ alums and all of the diversity alumni groups (Black, Hispanic, Native American, Asian Pacific).  As at the University, inclusion is so important to make all alums feel welcome.  In Boston, we take great pride in welcoming all members.  Thanks to everyone who has contributed to these efforts.

To continue this work, the ND Boston Diversity Alumni Committee is seeking an individual to be the lead for LGBTQ alumni programming as well as individuals to lead each of the other diversity alumni groups.  If interested, please contact Jack Bergen ‘77, Diversity Committee Chair at diversity@ndboston.com or Kaela Leonard ‘07, ND Boston President at boston.president@alumni.nd.edu.
