Letter from the Executive Director: April 9, 2026
Published on April 9, 2026
Dear Alumni, Parents, and Friends,
In two weeks, the Notre Dame family will come together for one of my new favorite traditions—the Notre Dame Global Day of Service. When it launched in 2023, we were floored by the response of alumni, parents, and friends around the world who jumped into action in the name of Our Lady to be a force for good in their communities. Since then, it has only grown, with thousands of volunteers organizing hundreds of service projects in all 50 states and dozens of countries.
If you’ve not yet participated in the Global Day of Service, I encourage you to explore opportunities to join the ND community in giving back in unique and meaningful ways on Saturday, April 25. Some of my favorite projects we’ve seen so far: the Notre Dame Club of Melbourne (Fla.) is hosting an event filling stuffed animals for children in need. In Grand Rapids, Michigan, the local club will hold an outdoor clean-up event at Benjamin’s Hope, an alumni-founded neighborhood for adults with developmental needs. The ND Club of Bolivia is hosting two projects across the country serving children facing homelessness. The creativity and care that have gone into organizing these opportunities is incredible; I wish I could list them all here!
How will you get involved? New projects are being added to the map each day. Find a project near you or visit our website for ideas on organizing your own project with family and friends. We can’t wait to see you out there!
All the best,
Dolly Duffy '84
