Joseph I. O’Neill III ’67 is the recipient of the 2013 Rev. Edward Frederick Sorin, C.S.C., Award. A member of the Notre Dame Board of Trustees, O’Neill is the managing partner of O’Neill Properties, Ltd., in Midland, Texas. A veteran of the U.S. Army Special Forces, O’Neill is also a past president of the Notre Dame Alumni Association’s Board of Directors. O’Neill Family Hall, a men’s dorm on the West Quad, was underwritten with a gift from O’Neill’s father, Joseph I. O’Neill, Jr. ’37; O’Neill’s sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Charles Schwab; and O’Neill and his wife, Jan.
