The Dr. William P. Sexton Award - 2018: Kevin Corrigan
2018: Kevin Corrigan

With this award, Kevin Corrigan is recognized for his outstanding service to the University and its student-athletes.
Corrigan is the longest active tenured coach in men’s lacrosse at the Division I level. Since his arrival on campus in 1988, he has built Notre Dame into one of the premier men’s lacrosse programs in the country.
Inheriting a program that had never earned a berth in the NCAA tournament, Corrigan has led the Fighting Irish to the NCAA Championship Weekend five times, including four appearances in the last eight seasons. Notre Dame has garnered 22 invitations to the NCAA Championship since 1990, including a current run of 12 straight trips.
Off the field, the team has been recognized with the ACC Game Changer Award for its continued commitment to community service, and every senior Notre Dame lacrosse player in the past 30 years has graduated.
Corrigan and his wife, Lis, reside in South Bend and have three children: Will (’15), Sidney, and Natale. Kevin’s father Gene was Notre Dame’s athletic director from 1980 to 1986, and brothers David (Law, ’86), Tim (’86), and Boo (’90) graduated from Notre Dame.
“I am so honored to receive this recognition from the Notre Dame Alumni Association. I have such great respect for Notre Dame, for Bill Sexton, and for all the great people at ND that I could not be more humbled or more gratified to be selected. Thank you.”
