Letter from the Executive Director: December 18, 2025

Published on December 18, 2025

Dear Alumni, Parents, and Friends,

There’s nothing quite like the Christmas season at Notre Dame. Each December, Our Lady’s University gets dressed in its best, with beautifully decorated trees, twinkling lights, and nativity scenes popping up all over the place. Students take part in holiday traditions with their residence halls, musical groups stage festive performances, colleagues gather to celebrate together, and members of the Notre Dame community—both on campus and around the world—find ways to serve others and spread some much-needed joy in honor of the season. You can even hear Christmas music fill the air from the Notre Dame Stadium sound system.

I’ll admit, for those of us on campus every day, it can be easy to take it all for granted. That’s why, this year, we’re bringing Christmas at Notre Dame to you. In our last newsletter of the year, explore all the many ways Notre Dame is marking the season, from the spiritual to the silly. We even threw in a cookie recipe! Call it a traditional family Christmas, with a Fighting Irish twist.

From our families to yours, all of us at the Notre Dame Alumni Association wish you a truly Merry Christmas and a New Year overflowing with joy and triumphant hope.

Merry Christmas!
