From the Office of the ND Alumni Association:
Thank you again for your steadfast leadership and patience during this trying time. I am writing today to share some important updates from campus and from the Notre Dame Alumni Association.
As you are aware, on May 18, the University announced plans to begin the fall semester on campus the week of August 10. The plan — conceived for students, faculty, and staff — will include comprehensive testing for COVID-19, contact tracing, quarantine and isolation protocols, social distancing and mask requirements, and enhanced cleaning of all campus spaces.
In the best interest of the safety of the entire Notre Dame community, we are requesting that all in-person club events be postponed or canceled through August 31. This includes canceling all in-person Student Send-offs. Please know that NO in-person club events are required through the end of 2020.
Hesburgh Lectures and UND Celebrations
In addition, we are canceling all in-person UND Celebrations and Hesburgh Lectures for the remainder of the 2020 calendar year (through Dec. 31, 2020). We are, however, working on plans for the NDAA to host a virtual UND Celebration and virtual Hesburgh Lectures during this time. We intend to have a plan in place to share with you by July 31.
We understand the impact these decisions have on your clubs and the events that you have planned, but your personal health and safety, and the health and safety of your club’s alumni, parents, and friends are most important.
Again, thank you for your steadfast commitment to being a Force for Good in your communities. Please know of my continued prayers for you, your families, and your club members.
