Alums represent at Catholic Charities Drive Out Hunger Golf outing

We had a great time at the Catholic Charities Drive Out Hunger golf outing at Prestonwood Country Club on August 16. The predicted rain never showed up. Notre Dame alums showed up to support Catholic Charities. The course was in great shape, the facilities were top notch, the food was great, and all beverages were cold. You could not ask for a better summertime outing.

The ND alums played in three consecutive foursomes and we cruised around the Highlands Course displaying our golfing prowess (or not). Notre Dame alumni were recognized several times during the event by the tournament staff. The highlight of our foursome's day was having our drive on a par 5 hole hit by long drive champion Scottie Pearman.  When our group came up to the tee, Scottie asked us if this was a Notre Dame Tournament because he had seen so many of us sporting our ND gear. Using his 3 degree driver, Scottie's tee shot was about 360 yards.  The next few shots by our team have been classified and are not publicly discussed.

We all agreed not to miss next year's tournament. We invite you to join with us for next year's Catholic Charities Drive Out Hunger Golf outing. As soon as the dates are announced they will be published in the club newsletter. We would love to have more Domers on the links supporting a great cause.
