Seeking Board Candidates for 2021 Election
Election time! Interested candidates must submit a statement of interest that explains your connection to Notre Dame, your interest in participation on the club board of directors, and your qualifications. Please send statements of interest to firstname.lastname@example.org by Wednesday, June 16. Candidates should plan to attend the board meeting via Zoom at 6pm on Monday, June 21. President – Primary representative of the Club to the University, to other clubs and organizations, and to the public. Chairs the Board of Directors and conducts meetings, responsible for long-term planning and strategic decision-making for the Club. The President works closely with the other Officers and Directors to oversee the operations of the Club in pursuit of its mission and the 6 Cs of the NDAA. The President leads the Board's Executive Committee.
Vice President - The Vice-President shall, in the absence of the President, perform the duties of the President. The Vice-President shall have such powers and perform such duties as the Board of Directors may from time to time prescribe, or as the President may from time to time delegate to him or her.
Treasurer - The Treasurer, subject to the direction of the President, shall be responsible for all funds and securities of the Club; receive and give receipt for monies due and payable to the Club from any source whatsoever; deposit all such monies in the name of the Club in such banks, trust companies or other depositories as shall be selected in accordance with the laws of the State of Minnesota; and in general perform all the duties incident to the office of Treasurer and such other duties as from time to time may be assigned to him or her by the President or by the Board of Directors. If required by the Board of Directors, the Treasurer shall give a bond for the faithful discharge of his or her duties in such sum and with such surety as the Board of Directors shall determine.
Secretary –The Secretary of the Club’s Board of Directors has the responsibility of (i) ensuring that the Board of Directors’ meeting minutes are recorded, (ii) ensuring that all meeting notices or other Board notices are properly given as required by the Bylaws, (iii) overseeing Club records, and (iv) performing other duties from time to time as assigned to him or her by the Club President or the Board of Directors. In addition to serving as the Club’s Secretary, the Secretary fills one of five seats on the Board’s Executive Committee.
Game Watch - This person will focus on camaraderie events for the sporting life of our Fighting Irish. This individual may coordinate both in-person and virtual events around football, basketball, hockey and any other sports of interest. A true passion for ND athletics is a must!
Young Alumni: This person will focus on outreach to recent graduates and programming directed at and relevant to young alumni (defined by NDAA as 10 years from undergraduate degree). Young alumni quite literally represent the future of our Club, so some activities should cross generational boundaries and/or span multiple aspects of our mission (e.g., camaraderie, community service). Young alumni are also best positioned to connect with current students from our region.
