Dear Alumni, Parents, and Friends,
47-40. Like victories over No. 1 Florida State in 1993 and No. 1 Miami in 1988, Saturday's win over top-ranked Clemson will be etched in the minds of Fighting Irish fans for decades to come. What a hard-fought win for our student-athletes and Coach Kelly and his staff, and what an exciting night for all of Notre Dame — the latest chapter in the storied history of The House That Rockne Built.
For members of the Class of 2021, Saturday also marked their final home game in the student section. Believe it or not, today is the last day of classes this semester. Final exams will begin on Monday, and before long, our students will be wrapping up this most unusual fall. I would be remiss, of course, if I did not acknowledge the continued concern about COVID-19 cases. All students will be required to receive a negative exit test before they will be cleared to leave the South Bend area. It is of the utmost importance that we don’t send our students back to their home communities with them unknowingly carrying the virus.
Finally, in lieu of our usual Study Break event, over the next three days we will offer a series of unique treats for our students, thanks to the generosity of many of our clubs and affinity groups, who are kindly helping to sponsor these goodies. We'll have mini donuts on Friday, hot chocolate and coffee on Saturday, and fried ice cream on Sunday, each in a different outdoor location on campus. Please join us in wishing our students a successful, safe, and healthy end to their studies this semester.
Yours in Notre Dame,
