Alumni and Friends Invited to Serve and Celebrate at the Camping World Bowl
Notre Dame fans traveling to the Camping World Bowl in Orlando are invited to celebrate and give back before cheering on the Fighting Irish against Iowa State.
On Friday, Dec. 27, join the Alumni Association and Notre Dame Club of Greater Orlando for a service project from 12:30 p.m. until 3 p.m., with West Lakes Partnership and LIFT Orlando, two local neighborhood revitalization organizations. Activities will include assembling care packages for area residents, a school beautification project, and organizing supplies to benefit a crisis pregnancy center. That evening, all alumni, parents, and friends are invited to the Camping World Bowl Pep Rally at 4:45 p.m. at Pointe Orlando, immediately followed by the Notre Dame Post-Pep Rally Party at Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar. Admission is free and food and beverages will be available for purchase.
On Saturday morning, the Notre Dame family will gather for a Mass of Thanksgiving at 8 a.m. at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel. University President Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C., ’76, ’78 M.A. will preside and preach at this special Mass and all are welcome.
After Mass, Irish fans are invited to attend a pre-game gathering sponsored by the Notre Dame Club of Greater Orlando, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Harry Buffalo. Admission is free and food and beverages will be available for purchase.
For those wishing to tailgate, the club has also secured parking at Broken Strings Brewery, about four blocks from the stadium. Parking passes can be purchased here. The cost is $32.85, and $10 from every space sold will go toward the Notre Dame Club of Greater Orlando Scholarship Fund.
