THIS IS A BYE WEEK FOR FOOTBALL

The next Football Game Watch Party will be on Saturday, November 9th when the Irish host the Seminoles of Florida State.  As always, the Denver faithful will assemble at Tom’s Watch Bar at Coors Field to root the Irish on to victory and one step closer to the College Football Playoffs.  Kickoff will be at 5:30 p.m. Denver time.

ALL SOULS DAY PRAYER SERVICE

The Notre Dame Club of Denver will not be holding an in person All Souls Day Prayer Service.  However, a service will be held on Campus at the Grotto on Monday, November 4th, at 10:30 a.m. Denver Time.  We understand that this service will be streamed and anyone can submit intentions in advance of the event at Notre Dame All Souls' Day Prayer Request (qualtrics.com)

Here is a note from Dan Allen at the Alumni Association

“We encourage the local community to join us at the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes for the prayer service, and all are welcome to pray with us virtually via the Alumni Association's Facebook Page.

We continue to offer these and other prayer opportunities all year through FaithND, our spiritual engagement outreach, and we are blessed to share our new website as well as our well-loved Daily Gospel Reflection email.

Thank you for entrusting us with the names of those dearest to you who have died, and we join you in prayer that each of them will find eternal rest in the outstretched arms of Christ. May God bless and keep you always.”

THE HISTORY OF HALLOWEEN -  IRISH OF COURSE!

Ireland: home of Halloween | Ireland.com

Can’t make it to the island of Ireland for Halloween? Don’t worry, you can recreate the magic of the Halloween season from the comfort of home, no matter where you are in the world.

First off, you’ll want some barmbrack. This bread/cake is a staple of every Irish household at Halloween. And a note to any young romantics in your family – if they find the ring in the cake, they’ll be married within the year! And for your dinner, you must have colcannon – curly kale cabbage mixed with creamy mashed potatoes.

After dinner and before trick or treating, you have to partake in some of the traditional Halloween games. The most famous is snap apple, where an apple is suspended from a string while the blindfolded revellers try to get a bite. You can also try bobbing for apples in water, just be sure to bring a towel!
